Constant Battle

I have decided that keeping this house in the condition that I would like it is a constant battle- especially with a 10 year son. We just don't have the same standards, and I get tired of fighting about it.

Spencer has started Little League, which is a ginormous time sink as far as I am concerned- but I got a pass from him to miss the game today. He said "I know you don't like baseball, Mom". He did great at his first game- made an awesome catch and got two hits. It was fun to see the delight on both his face and his Dad's.

It's a gloomy day out- and it was gorgeous the two previous days. Everyone is feeling spring fever. I have a lunch scheduled every day next week and then we head off to Boston on Spring Break! We are on a tight budget- $500 for the week- but Monday thru Friday we have breakfast and dinner provided at the Homewood Suites. I'm purchasing our tour tickets ahead of time as well, so the only expense we will have is for the tour at Plymouth rock- I have the Newport Mansion tour and the Duck/St. Charles/Boston tour covered- and of course, meals and gas. We might even be able to bring back a christmas ornament, a t-shirt for Spencer, and a magnet for the fridge- our usual souvenirs!
